As one of the main materials of direction materials, plywood has become the third largest source of pollution suspects after wall paint and flooring.I believe that the first time you pay attention to the difference between "solid wood" and "plate" is from the discussion about environmental protection.
However, I usually don't know what kind of plates, big core boards, particle boards, melamine boards... I can't tell the difference. Maybe these boards with different names are one thing at a time.
In order to help you distinguish the concepts, we will introduce the common plate knowledge into two categories of substrate and finish technology. You will find various classifications on the market that confuse the two. Deconstruction is so simple.
Substrates are generally divided into four categories:particle board, MDF, joinery, integrated board
1 (Particle Board)
It is made of various kinds of wood chips. It is a very inexpensive substrate that is very versatile. The flat-panel closet and the low-end cabinet door of the ordinary family are standard in the rental house.
It is often said that the sheet metal ring is not environmentally friendly, mainly depending on the amount of glue used. This kind of glue that sticks together a bunch of broken pieces is obviously obvious.
The particle holding force of the particle board is also weak. What is the nail holding power? For example, when you install the cabinet, you need to nail the door to the hinge. The plate with weak nail strength can't be used. The door is easy to have a tendency to fall down.
Are many people still heard about particle boards? The particle board is actually a particle board. If there is any difference, the particle board is more uniform in texture and better in stability.
The general purpose of home improvement is MDF. And particleboard and called two cheap substrates. The difference is that the wood chips are further powdered and pressed at high pressure. As the name implies, the density is very large, so it is generally heavy. Compared with particleboard, the density board has a more uniform texture and the nail holding power is enhanced, but it is not as strong as the particle board. Both substrates on the environmental protection are filled with adhesive, half a catty.
3. (Block Board)
Blockboard, also known as wood board, large core board, is like a hamburger, two pieces of veneer with a thickness of about 1.5mm, with a solid core in between. The solid wood core is made up of a piece of rectangular wood strip, and the wood core is generally cheaper pine or poplar. Although the pieces are solid wood, each of the long wooden strips and between the two veneers are full of glue. It is a very commonly used artificial glued board. The advantag
4. (Integrated Board )
Due to the vertical and horizontal splicing of the wooden strips, the integrated board is more stable than the solid wood and is not easy to crack and deform. However, the strength is slightly worse than that of blockboard (large core board). Commonly used in wardrobes, bookcases and other cabinets.
Finishing process is divided into three categories: melamine board, plywood, fire board
1. (Melamine Board)
The double veneer panels we have heard of, the paint-free panels, the eco-boards, and most of them are melamine panels. The paper printed with color or imitation wood grain is immersed in the melamine transparent resin and then heat-pressed on the surface of the substrate. Similar to the principle of the composite floor, a treated outer skin is attached to the surface of the substrate.
Plywood is a relatively thin piece of wood that is cut into pieces and glued together. According to the number of layers, it is divided into three layers, five layers, multi-layer boards, etc., and the categories are complicated. It is difficult to say whether the plywood is a substrate or a veneer, because the thin one can be used as a veneer, and the thick one can be used as a substrate! Environmental protection is also determined by the amount of glue used.
The plywood is made of three pieces of wood, which are used as panels for wardrobes and doors.
The plywood has a certain degree of flexibility and support, and is often used to make arched door finishes.
The nine plywood is superposed and extruded by wood board, which has strong substrate stability and strong nail holding power.
3. (Fire Plywood)
The fireproof board refers to a finishing process, and the inner substrate is mostly made of a density board. Also known as refractory board. With rich surface color, grain and special logistics performance, it is widely used in interior decoration, furniture, kitchen cabinets, laboratory countertops, exterior walls and other fields.
In fact, the plate knowledge is subdivided like a vast ocean. Today, it is just basic knowledge for everyone. Have you learned it?
